Warwick ABACUS was formed by a group of 4 people with the aim of reducing misconceptions, bridging cultural differences and connect people regardless of who they are or where they are from with a common interest in Chinese culture.
Promotion of Chinese culture and values. Our events will allow you to experience this age old culture rich of unique fascinating traditions.
Finding a sense of inclusivity. If you ever felt out of place, you may just be able to find like-minded people who will understand you. We are a close community and we try to accommodate everyone with common interests. You will likely build bonds for life and create a home away from home!
Diversity. Not only you will find a range of all sorts of people with incredible international mindsets, yet woven together through the influence of a Chinese background. Nevertheless, we can also cater anyone with even the mildest interests in Chinese culture.
Fun! Above everything else, we wish to create an relaxed social environment for everyone to create cheerful memories and ever lasting relationships in the society.Join Now

Hey! I’m Dionne and I’m in my second year studying Economics.
I’m a British-born Chinese from the Wirral (up north). I can’t wait to hopefully secure a diverse range of sponsors to bring discounts and offers exclusive to you all. I love playing music, I’m a massive foodie and my go to bubble tea order is the classic boba milk tea or grapefruit jasmine green tea (can’t pick between the two haha). See you all around next year!"

ABACUS isn’t just for British or Chinese students, but for everyone! Inclusivity is a core value of ABACUS, and as part of this, we only speak english. This society is for anyone interested in Asian culture or in coming to any of our events.
Warwick ABACUS organises fun events every week, such our “Boba and Chill” socials, bar crawls, hotpot dinners, and much more. If you’re interested in sports, we have multiple sports teams that represent our society that are another great place to meet new people.
With the COVID-19 pandemic limiting in-person activities, we’ll offer online socials including movie and minigame nights. We also offer casual Esports teams for games including League, Valorant, and CS. We’re also setting up a inter-uni ABACUS discord for you to meet more people, with potential tournaments later on!
For self-isolating students, we also offer grocery delivery and other support! Check out our website for more details.
Membership is free, entitles you to discounted tickets and gives you priority at limited availability events. It’s a great place to meet new friends, it’s a society of diverse, but like-minded people.
